IBV Strength and Sports Conditioning
There is an increasing need for experienced professionals in strength and sports conditioning. This specialized program is designed for individuals and teams who have an interest in sports and fitness. IBV will teach you the skills and techniques needed to help athletes or sports teams reach their maximum physical potential.
IBV strength and sport conditioning is athletic training aimed at greater strength, power, speed, agility, coordination and balance. You will learn general exercise principles, nutrition and sport-specific along with practical advanced training in weightlifting, agility, plyometrics, balance and sprint training for athletes.
A strength and conditioning coach is a fitness and physical performance professional who uses exercise prescription specifically to improve performance in athletic competition. Strength coaches also help athletes with injury prevention and proper mechanics within their sport. Vanda Hadarean was an Olympic Medalist at the 1992 Barcelona Games and has the experience to help suceed.
IBV currently provides strength and conditioning training for soccer teams, gymnastics individuals and teams, track/field individuals and synchronized swimmers.
Like personal trainers and group exercise instructors, strength and conditioning coaches help others to improve their fitness. However, strength and conditioning coaches differ from the others in one very important way- the clients they work with are focused on improving their performance or skill in a sport. This is why strength and conditioning coaches work primarily with athletes.
Athletic exercise programs can be fairly rigorous and it can be difficult to get athletes to train as hard as they should. For this reason, conditioning coaches must be good motivators. Because of the diversity of their clientele, coaches must be organized in how they administer each conditioning program and be detail oriented in order to help athletes to keep records of their training. Much like a personal trainer, a conditioning coach must be a good teacher because he/she will be trying to educate athletes on how to execute weightlifting and other exercises correctly. Conditioning coaches must also be perceptive; they will be monitoring athletes as they train and correcting any lifting errors they make. Finally, to work successfully with an array of athletes, coaches and maybe even parents, the conditioning coach requires above-average interpersonal skills.
